Lucy Read Architects is an architectural practice led by Principal Lucy Read RIBA offering a range of architectural services, including:

  • stand-alone feasibility studies
  • navigation through the Planning/Listed Building process
  • full architectural service including detail design; support with tender processes; construction phase contract administration; and site inspections.

Lucy established the practice in 2016 having worked in a number of notable London practices. The practice has expertise in residential, community and education design and a wealth of experience working on listed buildings, buildings in conservation areas and projects on Metropolitan Open Land including within listed parks.


Across her 20 years of experience as a registered architect, Lucy has worked on a broad range of projects with practices who are considered expert in their field. While Associate at Curl la Tourelle Head Architects, she led on both a number of secondary, primary and SEN school projects and as well as sport buildings for the London Boroughs of Brent, Sutton, Wimbledon, Southwark and Camden. Her community projects include the Intergenerational Adventure Playground for Merton and the Peckham Rye Adventure Playground for Southwark. While at Theis + Khan Architects, and Pedder + Scampton Architects, Lucy led on high-end residential and community projects and at Wilkinson Eyre she worked on Science World Bristol and the Dyson Headquarters.

Herself a graduate of the Bartlett School of Architecture, Lucy has taught design, history and theory of architecture at a number of universities including the University of Greenwich, Oxford Brookes University, the Architectural Association and the Bartlett. She currently teaches Professional Studies (RIBA Part 3) at The Bartlett helping candidates prepare for their final exams for full qualification to the profession.
